In today's image, we see a filaprom on the Sun. This is a combination of the terms filament and prominence and are just two ways of saying the same thing. A filament and a prominence are the same thing - the filament is viewed against the surface of our Sun while the prominence is on the limb of our Sun and viewed against the darkness of space.
