In today's image, we see the last images from the DART mission as the craft impacts on the asteroid Dimorphos. The intent of this is to try to nudge the asteroid a bit in its orbit around a slightly larger asteroid to see how this might work in the future. In the long run, this could help to nudge a dangerous asteroid away from an impact on Earth if it is detected early enough.
