In today's image, we see an image of the impact from the DART mission on the asteroid Dimorphos. This was an initial test of a system to see if we are able to deviate the path of an asteroid through an impact. In the future this could be used to change the orbit of an asteroid which might be heading toward Earth and cause it to miss Earth altogether.
